FOL Sponsors the “Reading With Baby” Project

Early literacy and early reading in the Granbury community are encouraged with English and Spanish language board-book gift packets supplied by FOL.  These are provided to the family of babies born at Lake Granbury Medical Center.  This gift includes a book, a “baby’s first library card,” brochures for parents on how to share books and share reading and the importance of early stimulation.

FOL also inserts local information about our public Library and the FOL used Book Store, and also adds items to make the gift packet attractive and festive, such as baby socks, or a bib and a bow.

“Reading With Baby” is funded from sales at our used Book Store.  Our goal also is to inform Hood County residents that the Library is a source of education, information and entertainment.
